EEI Board of Directors Approves Promotions of Key EEI Leaders

EEI Board of Directors Approves Promotions of Key EEI Leaders

WASHINGTON (January 11, 2022) — The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) today announced the promotions of three employees in recognition of their leadership and contributions to EEI and their strong support of the resilient clean energy transformation that America’s electric companies are leading. The promotions were approved by EEI’s Board of Directors during its winter meeting, which was held virtually, and are effective immediately.

EEI’s Board of Directors approved the promotions of:

  • Scott Aaronson to Senior Vice President, Security and Preparedness. Aaronson joined EEI in 2009 in the government relations department focusing on security and technology issues, and has served as Vice President, Security and Preparedness since 2018. Aaronson’s team focuses on cyber and physical security, storm response and recovery, occupational and corporate safety, and associated regulatory policy. He also is a member of the secretariat for the CEO-led Electricity Subsector Coordinating Council, which brings together senior industry and government leaders to prepare for, and respond to, national-level disasters or threats to critical infrastructure. Aaronson will continue to report to Phil Moeller, EEI Executive Vice President, Business Operations Group and Regulatory Affairs.

  • Stephanie Voyda to Senior Vice President, Communications and Member Engagement. Voyda joined EEI in 1997 and has held various positions of increased responsibility within the communications department, most recently serving as Vice President, Communications. Voyda directs EEI’s newly formed Communications and Member Engagement team, with responsibility for EEI’s communications and marketing activities, member company engagement and outreach, and meeting services, including EEI’s quarterly Board of Directors meetings and the EEI annual meeting. She assumed these new member engagement responsibilities following the retirement of EEI Vice President of Membership and Meeting Services Jim Owen on November 30, 2021. Voyda will continue to report to Brian Wolff, EEI Executive Vice President, Public Policy and External Affairs.

  • Eric Grey to Vice President, Government Relations. Grey succeeds Kathy Steckelberg following her retirement from EEI on December 31, 2021. He joined EEI in 2013 and has served as EEI’s lead lobbyist on tax and financial issues. In 2019, Grey was named Executive Director, Government Relations. He is responsible for managing EEI’s federal government relations activities impacting EEI’s members and oversees EEI’s PowerPAC. Prior to joining EEI, Grey served as Manager of Federal Government Affairs for Wisconsin Energy Corporation. Additionally, he served on Capitol Hill in legislative positions with U.S. Representatives Jerry Weller and Phil Crane. Grey will report to EEI Executive Vice President Brian Wolff.

In other EEI personnel news, EEI General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Senior Vice President of Clean Energy Emily Sanford Fisher assumed responsibility for EEI’s environment team on January 1, following the retirement of Quin Shea on December 31.

“I am tremendously thankful to Jim, Kathy, and Quin for their dedicated years of service to EEI and our member companies,” said EEI President Tom Kuhn. “They each played a pivotal role in our success over the years, and I congratulate them on their distinguished and exemplary careers. I wish them well in retirement.”

“I also am pleased to announce the promotions of Scott, Stephanie, and Eric,” added Kuhn. “Each is a major contributor to EEI’s success and manages portfolios and teams that are vital to our mission of serving America’s investor-owned electric companies by delivering Power by Association. As our industry continues its major clean energy transformation, they will play a critical role in advancing EEI’s strategic and public policy goals and providing value to EEI’s member companies and the customers and communities that we all so proudly serve.”
