WASHINGTON (March 04, 2024) — The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) today announced that Richard F. McMahon, Jr., senior vice president of Energy Supply & Finance and Chief ESG Officer at EEI, is retiring from his position on June 30. McMahon has served EEI and its member electric companies for more than 32 years.

Throughout his career McMahon directed the institute’s Wall Street activities, including financial analysis, investor relations, accounting, and tax issues. Working with industry stakeholders and the investor community, he was the driving force behind the industry’s premier financial conference, and led the development of a voluntary environmental, social, governance, and sustainability (ESG/sustainability) reporting template that has enabled EEI member companies to deliver the quantitative and qualitative information the investor community seeks in a clear and consistent way.

“Richard’s leadership has made EEI the go-to source for financial data on America’s investor-owned electric companies,” said EEI President and CEO Dan Brouillette. “His strong relationships with member company executives and the investors who provide the capital to power our nation have been invaluable to our industry’s success.”
